I made this faux cactus by needle felting, using 100% natural wool fibres. The cactus sits in a real terracotta plant pot, which adds to its realism.

Needle felting is the process of using specially designed barbed needles to manipulate wool fibres into 3D objects, such as soft sculpture figurines, or into a solid fabric. It is quite a long process and patience is needed, but it is so absorbing and thoroughly enjoyable!
