Full description
This hand embroidered apple core brooch is an original piece of bead embroidery artwork, carefully made by me in my Guernsey studio in the Channel Islands. I am a textile and mixed media artist with around twenty years of experience, and bead embroidery is something I return to again and again because I love its detail and quiet character.
The brooch shows the core of a green apple, with the outer skin stitched in green seed beads and the centre worked in soft off-white tones. Two small wooden beads sit in the middle to represent the seeds, adding a natural texture. At the top, the apple stalk is embroidered using bronze and brown beads for a subtle contrast. I enjoy working slowly and thoughtfully, letting each piece develop in its own way, so no two are ever exactly the same.
The finished brooch measures approximately 6 cm high and 4 cm wide. A metal brooch bar is securely attached to the back, making it easy to wear on clothing, coats, scarves or bags.
This beaded apple core brooch is a small, wearable artwork and would suit anyone who enjoys handmade jewellery, nature-inspired design or unusual textile accessories. It is made with care and attention, and I hope it brings a quiet smile to whoever wears it.
