Full description
This hand embroidered green bell pepper brooch is an original piece of bead embroidery artwork, made by me in my Guernsey studio in the Channel Islands. I am a textile and mixed media artist with around twenty years of experience, and I enjoy turning everyday natural forms into small, wearable pieces of art.
The design shows a green bell pepper sliced through the centre, revealing the pale interior and seeds. The outer pepper is stitched onto felt using green beads and sequins, giving it depth and a subtle shine. The centre is worked in off-white beads to represent the seeds and inner flesh, creating a soft contrast against the green. I like pieces that reward a closer look, and this one is all about texture and quiet detail.
The finished brooch measures approximately 47 mm by 43 mm. A metal brooch bar is securely attached to the back so it can be worn on clothing, coats, scarves or bags.
This beaded bell pepper brooch is a small, handmade textile artwork and would suit anyone who enjoys unusual jewellery, food-inspired design or nature-led accessories. Each piece is made slowly and with care, and no two are ever exactly the same.
