This piece was inspired by the contrast between raw texture and colour. Burning the ash wood brings out its natural movement and depth, while the blue wax adds a subtle vibrancy, echoing tones found in nature such as water and sky. I wanted to create a piece that feels tactile and expressive, celebrating the character of the wood while adding a modern, artistic twist.

Full description
This handcrafted vase is turned from ash wood, then carefully burnt to enhance the natural grain and texture of the timber. The surface has been embellished with blue wax, which settles into the grain and highlights the flowing patterns created by the burning process. Slightly smaller in size at just under 5 inches tall and approximately 5 and a half inches wide, this vase has a compact yet bold presence, making it ideal as a decorative accent or for dried arrangements.
