Thinking back to when I was learning to spin, I would have loved a box full of fibres to explore, as well as an appropriate spindle. I have curated this beginners kit using my extensive knowledge of spinning and put together items that will give you the very best launchpad for your new hobby. I adore handmade and one of a kind kits that are made with love, and hope you will too :)

This one of a kind drop spindle spinning kit has everything you need to make your first handspun yarns!
The kit contains:
- One solid wood, hand turned spindle made from beech. The spindle is top whorl and weighs approximately 27g which is great for beginners. The spindle has a leader attached so you can start right away!
- A selection of fibre, all chosen specifically for new spinners:
There is natural (undyed) Black Welsh and white Shetland, perfect to start with due to the longer staple length and slightly coarser textures.
A range of commercially dyed Corriedale tops in various shades
Rolags that I prepared using my drum carder, containing various fibres, but mostly Corriedale and a small amount of Merino
Commercially prepared multicolour blends
- A basic instruction sheet (please refer to my Instagram auspicious.stitch for a wealth of beginner spinning tutorial videos, or hop into my DMs and I will send you them directly, and answer any questions you have)

Everything in this beginners spinning kit has been chosen and prepared by me, taking into account the needs of someone learning to spin their own yarn for the first time.
