The idea is to create something new from old, the finished piece isn't meant to be perfect. Instead, retain marks, stains and scratches, part of the original character of the ceramic. All Sterling Silver is either recycled or repurposed.
Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear and damage. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each titled piece comes with bio of where the ceramic came from, known history, original information and when the artwork was created. Some ceramics collected are used as found, while others are cut randomly which will shape the final picture. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.

I found a few interesting pieces of ceramic in a charity shop, Barnard Castle. Some were rescue plates, cracked or badly damaged, others were stand out pieces, slightly damaged and sitting on a top shelf 6 small side plates, reduced to clear and perfect for a new project.
This pendant is made from one of those small plates, with blue flower design. A lot of the pattern was damaged but I managed to shape one of the flowers into a small oval. The flower isn’t complete with some of the petals worn away.
I was given two small rhinestones bezel trays, recycled 925 Sterling Silver, to repurpose. I’ve never used an embellished tray before and thought the little blue flower would look cute surrounded by sparkle. Although I usually don’t choose to use decorated settings, this is my first pendant and it was a happy chance that I got to try, thanks to a donation of recycled trays.
Hanging on 44 cm plus 5 cm extender recycled sterling silver chain.
Set in 19 mm x 15 mm oval recycled silver bezel tray.
Ceramic pendant 10 mm x 8 mm.
Both polished and hallmarked 925.
Delivered in gift box made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue.
Presented on Jewellery box insert made from tall oil, a by-product of paper production.
Complete with short bio and FSC®-certified gift bag.
