It's a wrap folks! I'm now on my holidays. Many many thanks to everyone who has supported my daft little enterprise this year. Have a brilliant Christmas and I look forward to bashing more spoons for you in 2026.
HOLIDAY DATES: Please note the shop will now be CLOSED until Fri 2 Jan inclusive. I may be away from my computer so please be patient if it takes me longer than usual to answer messages. If you've ordered recently, rest assured that all packages have been despatched by first class post.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
A vintage fruit pattern embossed 'berry' spoon that I've handstamped around the edge in block letters:
PLENTY AND GRACE
BE TO THIS PLACE
and because I couldn't resist it I then added in smaller lettering:
NOW FILL YOUR FACE
The spoon is silver-plated; some of the original plating is somewhat worn, especially on the handle. It measures approx. 22cm long - a nice size for serving dessert. It would make a fun little gift for a housewarming, wedding or anniversary or make a nice addition to your festive dinner table.
The lettering is coloured black with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Wash carefully by hand. Avoid leaving the spoon in acidic liquids such as stewed fruit as this can cause corrosion and pitting.
You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. Please note that it is a vintage or indeed an antique item, I would guess 1920s and it's been used, loved and polished a lot, so some of the original silver plating has been worn away to leave the brassy-coloured nickel silver alloy showing through. This may not bother you but I think it's worth pointing out at this stage so that you (or whoever you give this to) won't be disappointed. This is a spoon with heaps of vintage character, rather than a mirror-finished brand-new-looking one.
You'll find more big spoons in the 'Dessert and Serving Spoons' collection in my shop and of course I'm always happy to take commissions, just ask.
