Hi, so glad you are visiting my store! I am currently loading more listings everyday, so if you don't find what you are looking for today please come back to see my new items.
I've painted this scene a number of times, in acrylic and as a street sketch in ink. I was drawn to this image and wanted to get it right before really trying it in oil paint. When I painted this oil, I spent time not only on the setting and feel of the morning light and dramatic sky, but I enjoyed putting detail into the shop fronts and window ledges. The road lines were a key part of the composition leading you into the image and down to the market getting ready for the busy day ahead.

Full description
Mold, a small market town in Flintshire North Wales. This was early one Saturday morning standing outside the church at the top of the high-street looking down to the market just setting up. The light rising from the east was highlighting one side of the road, and making a dramatic sky. The shops were closed and there were few people about.
I enjoyed adding detail to the shop fronts, and showing the changes in light across the painting and the sky.
