This was inspired by Egon Schiele's 'Kosmak'. I used a small image within a book as a reference, I freehand sketched in charcoal and painted the background in thinned oil paint creating a transparent look. I love Egon Schiele's work, his use of line in incredible, and the way this figure looks at you is very noticeable.

Full description
An oil paint and charcoal painting, the figure drawn in charcoal, I've really focused on the line. The background used thinner oils to create the old paper look of the surface. This was inspired by Egon Schiele's 'Kosmak with hand raised', the original being a drawing on paper. This painting is on wood panel, it is unframed, but the wood panel has depth and creates a nice look proud of the wall. The piece measures 17x12 inch (43x29 cm).
