Hi, so glad you are visiting my store! I am currently loading more listings everyday, so if you don't find what you are looking for today please come back to see my new items.

I love Egon Schiele's work. This painting was inspired by Schiele's drawing 'Girl Cowering'. I sketched first using only a small reference picture in charcoal. I then painted the figure in acrylic and the hair in oil paint for the additional lustre it brings.

Full description

A mixed media (acrylic and oil paints) on a deep canvas in a natural wood frame. I visited the Albertina gallery in Vienna, and saw some of Schiele's works in person along with many other incredible masterpieces. I purchased a small book on Egon Schiele from the shop there and used some of the small photos as references for some of my oil paintings, I think one of the best ways to really appreciate and learn from the masters is to study pieces of their work and to try and create some of the beautiful line work or moods they have in their original compositions. My master studies are never direct copies, I draw and paint free hand allowing me to change the image I create to something that works for my eye and style.
