This was inspired by Egon Schiele's Woman Undressing work. I used a small image within a book as a reference, I freehand sketched this in charcoal and decided to add colour and contrast by painting the dress in thick impasto oil. I love Egon Schiele's work, his use of line in incredible.

Full description
An oil paint and charcoal painting, the figure drawn in charcoal and the dress and hair in thick impasto oil. This was inspired by Egon Scheile's 'Woman Undressing', I started with a free hand charcoal sketch and then painted the dress and hair detail and also used thinner oils to create the old paper look of the surface. This painting is on Wood panel and is framed by myself, I distressed the frame and coloured it to suit the piece. Framed the piece measures 19.5inx14.5in (49x37cm).
