Full description
This is a single pressed woodcut on to Sumi-e Japanese paper.
The oak tree is in my local park and I stand beneath it three or four times a week when I’m walking the dog at all times of the year.
One day I took the time to sit and make a sketch of the tree directly onto the wooden plate and this became the starting point for the woodcut.
Materials: I use Sumi-e paper because it is strong and yet a soft white and Cranfield Caligo safe wash relief inks as they give a solid professional finish to the print while avoiding the need for solvents when cleaning the plates and rollers.
Dimensions of print: 20 x 20 cm
Each print is a single pressing and is signed in the right hand corner.
Postage: The print is backed with mount board and wrapped in protective cellophane before being sandwiched between corrugated cardboard sheets to send. Whenever possible packaging materials are reused and recyclable.
