This is a double pressed woodcut onto Sumi-e Japanese paper.
In the summer I walk my dog in woods and forests to keep him cool and I am always inspired by the transformations that happen as the sun falls through the leaves creating magical patches of shade and light. This print has been double pressed to give a bright yellow/green edge to the dark green top coat to emphasise this change from the deep shade to the intense light.
Materials: I use Sumi-e paper because it is strong and yet a soft white and Cranfield Caligo safe wash relief inks as they give a solid professional finish to the print while avoiding the need for solvents when cleaning the plates and rollers.
Dimensions of print: 43 x 30 cm
Each print is signed in the right hand corner.
Postage: The print is rolled in tissue paper and protected in plastic before being sent in a cardboard tube.
