My background is in Graphic Design and although I'm now retired I still enjoy the creative process. A lot of my work features birds and flowers and I particularly love combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces.

Full description
This pretty little picture would make a lovely one-of-a-kind gift for a nature lover.
The picture has been made using layers of cotton fabric (many of them batik) and decoupage papers. The fabrics have been intentionally frayed to give a soft edge. The bird is made using black cotton and has a decorative wing made with layered fabrics. I've added some metallic embroidery threads to give a bit of sparkle. There is a strip of music from a vintage music sheet and the flowers have been drawn onto calligraphy paper before being cut out and added to the collage.
The artwork comes in an 8 inch white, square mount with a 3.75 inch aperture. It is titled and signed on reverse.
