Inspired by some of areas of woodland around the Ashdown Forest in Sussex where you can go quite suddenly from a sunlight heathland into dark and sinister patches of dark forest

Full description

Stag in the Ether is one of a series of semi-abstract paintings of a red deer stag. It is 30x30x1.5 inches. The stag himself is painted in cool blues and purples and is seem emerging out of the ether from a warm red and orange background. The inspiration for this painting is simply an expression of the fascination I have for deer. They are often very elegant and appear and disappear at will which is why in folklore they are often portrayed as guides to the spirit world or to another universe. A nice idea I think! Painted on deep edge canvas, edges purple, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.
