Full description

An Irish 3d piece from 1966. The outline of the hare is cut out with a fine-bladed jewellers hand saw, not with a laser. Measures 17.7mm across.

A sterling silver chain is included in the price. 16 or 18 inch, please specify when ordering.

Despatched via the Royal Mail Tracked48 service in the UK.

FYI - This coin was minted in 1966 but unfortunately to show the hare, the date on the other side had to be cut away. After 1942, these coins were made from cupronickel which was 75% copper, 25% nickel. The Irish 3d was last minted in 1968. It is no longer in circulation.

The hare was a sacred and mystical animal to the Celts; a symbol of abundance, prosperity and good fortune.
