Growing up in rural Somerset trees held a fascination for me. Dad and I would either climb up them in the evening and wait for the foxes and badgers to come out or he would show me how to use them to find my way even after dark.
I don't think that I'm alone in seeing them as friends who were old when I was born and will hopefully still be standing proud long after I'm gone.
Look out for your local conservation group and spare some time to look after your old friends!

Definitely my favourite time of the year which this more abstract piece tries to capture. With the play of light dancing amongst the trees, the russety leaves shimmer with warm colours. Autumn is a time of year that you experience with all your senses, the cool damp smell of the forest floor and the crumpling of the dry leaves underfoot compliment the wonderful site of the browns and oranges.
Dimentions: the painting is 10"x8" and with the frame it's 11"x9"
