During my Master's degree in illustration, I took the route of sustainable art practices, creating my own paints, paper, and inks made from items that grew in my garden or stones and shells that I found. I have been asked many times if I would be selling these, and here they are.

Full description

This watercolour paint has been made from as many natural resources as possible by collecting the plant matter and creating a pigment through the laking process.

This paint had been made with Acorns

The paint works similarly to watercolour, although you are unable to layer or mix the paints. It is a whole different way of painting. However, if you are considering a more sustainable way of creating your artwork, then I would recommend giving these a try.

I have been experimenting with natural resource paints for some time, considering all the different recipes and techniques until I found one that works for me - now you can have a go too. Some of these paints tend to change colour; the paint on the lid is an indication of what it will change to. Don't let this put you off. What better way to embrace the natural world than to watch the paint change and evolve as it would in nature?

The ingredients - Alum (potassium aluminium sulfate), Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate), Calcium Carbonate, Seashells, Eggshells, Gum Arabic, Aqua Art Matt Binder, Water, Salt, Acorns. (Raw acorns contain tannins, which can be toxic to humans when ingested)

Not all of these ingredients are used in this paint, but in case of cross-contamination, I have listed them all.

Please Note Shellfish Allergies, ground seashells may be used in this paint.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.
