Frozen Charlotte dolls are frequently found by mudlarkers in part or whole. This little one was found by me mudlarking on the banks of our local river. Her story is a gruesome one Inspired by the grim story of Frozen Charlotte. In 1840 a young woman froze to death on her way to a ball because she refused to wear a coat over her dress. By the time she reached the ball she had frozen to death for choosing vanity of practicality. A true Victorian morality tale! To immortalise the tale various forms of the doll were made. Like most toys they were then discarded as the went out of fashion.
Refounded in silver by me and ready for her next less treacherous adventure!

Full description
Little Frozen Charlotte head found by me while mudlarking in my local river. Charlotte's face is moulded in fine silver with sterling silver posts and backs. They are lightly oxidised to bring out her features.
Each pair is hand moulded by me using silver clay, slight variations will occur. The pair you see may not be the pair you receive, each pair absolutely individual and unique.
