I usually prefer to weave with yarns that I have spun myself at home on my loom. However... every so often I find a commercial wool in colours too perfect not to use. This scarf is a case in point - I've used the lovely soft Malabrio 'Rios' wool from Uruguay, of all places! it's the colours that inspire me, wanting to see how the different green to purple shades mix and match together in a slightly different weave. The challenge now is to try and spin up similar colours myself... watch this space!

Full description
Glowing in subtle variations between light apple green through to lilac and purple, this long thin(-ish) wool scarf is ideal to wrap round the neck on blustery autumn days. It's handwoven, using the same soft commercial yarn (Malabrigo 'rios') for both the warp and weft. The pattern is a 'honeycomb' style, producing slightly different effects on either side of the scarf. It measures 154 x 17cm, excluding the fringe. If needed, it's best to hand-wash the scarf at a cool temperature, leave it to air dry, and then press with a cool iron.
