Full description
A trio of hand made gift tags in indigo blue and taupe, using recycled and salvaged textiles and haberdashery. Crisp cotton from salvaged curtain sample books, set against scraps of old denim jeans, and trimmed with vintage ric-rac and old buttons.
Ideal for decorating gifts for guys and teenagers, each tag comes with a smaller detachable card tag that can be replaced and re-used.
I have a zero waste approach to crafting, and try and use my offcuts in smaller makes. The tags start with scraps of denim, cut from old blue jeans - which I machine stitched to the front of luggage cards with a light brown thread. I then layered a rectange of fabric from curtain sample books, cut from the edge that has paper backing, and topped with a vintage ric-rac trim in an off-white shade. Finally I sewed on a button from my collection, knotting the cotton string to keep it secure.
With different samples from the Silk Road collection by iLiv, each tag is unique. The fabrics are all 100 percent cotton, and include two printed designs and a woven twill.
The buttons are salvaged, and are vintage or retro.
Set of 3. Each tag measures 12 by 6 cm (approx 4.5 by 2.5 inches), with cotton strings for tying to your gift.
I will be adding similar sets in different colours.
