I’ve always loved watching birds, whether it’s the quiet dignity of a swan gliding across the water, the splash of colour from a mallard duck on a pond, or even the humble pigeon with its gentle coo and watchful eyes. Each of these birds carries its own character and charm, and I wanted to capture that in wool – turning fleeting moments in nature into something you can hold in your hand.

Needle felting allows me to slow down and really notice the details: the curve of a swan’s neck, the shimmer of a mallard’s feathers, the soft roundness of a pigeon. Every figure is unique, shaped with patience and care, just like the real birds that inspire them.

These little creations are my way of celebrating everyday wildlife – the birds we pass by so often, but who bring such joy when we stop to notice them.
