Bring your wall to life with this original carbon and graphite pencil artwork depicting a bustling guillemot colony on the Farne Islands of Northumberland.
This drawing was created from direct observation of nesting seabirds on Inner Farne, which I used to visit frequently with my grandfather many years ago. My memories of this place remain strong, and I have tried to capture them in my drawing - the seabirds packed together, some sitting quietly, some interacting with their neighbours, preening each other, preening themselves, or engaging in appeasement displays. The sun was bright that day, which does happen in Northumberland sometimes! I hope you can feel some of this connection with nature when looking at this drawing.
