I was inspired to draw this when I saw my very first long-eared owl, a bird I'd been wanting to see for years. She was perched in a pine tree, quite low down, feathers fluffed and such a vengeful expression in her eyes that I had to draw her!

Title: The Stenasa Owl Plots Revenge.

Not all owls are wise and serene. Some are plotting revenge. My original drawing of a long-eared owl, inspired by a visit to the island of Oland in Sweden, beloved by birdwatchers. It captures the tetchy stare and secretive nature of one fluffy bird.

"On Sweden's island of Oland, the female long-eared owl of Stenasa was trying to sleep in a pine tree. She'd been quite comfortable, resting her head in her chest feathers, eyes closed and dreaming of voles. But she was jerked out of her dreamland by a very annoying and raucous group of crows who were screaming to each other and to anyone else in earshot, and jumping around in front of her.

She was unimpressed.

She opened her eyes and glared at them. Her indignant glare said it all.

Now she would have to endure this racket until nightfall. She started plotting her revenge..."
