My inspiration for this shaving stand was to make a shaving stand in contrasting Maple and black Walnut, and to hold two razors in, but be different than the majority of metal and plastic stand that are available online. I also had accessed some construction veneer at 2mm thick for this type of product, the core of the black walnut laminations is maple recycled from some previous work, also 2mm thick. My idea was to make a stand that would take one razor and a shaving brush out of wood to use the delicate grain and colour of maple and black walnut core for the top and Black walnut and English ash base. I use a similar technique to build dinghy tiller arms, the laminated timber is stronger than a solid timber when creating curved items like this as it reduces the short grain on a tight curve, unless it’s a grown crook bend.

Where possible we have used materials to reduce allegeries, coatings such as Epoxy resin, Sanding sealer, Melamine Lacquer, Microcrystalline wax have been used other than the timbers noted: Black Walnut veneer, Maple veneer, English Ash, Black Walnut. Although in daily use these should not affect the user, if you are unsure please check with a medical professional.

Full description
This shaving brush and razor stand, will take two razors and a shaving brush, the curvature of the laminated black walnut and maple forms an area for the shaving brush and razors to be stored. This is a predominately light coloured wood stand due to the maple and English ash used.
Timbers used are maple with a black walnut core for the arm, an ash and black walnut base, all fixings are stainless steel to reduce any rust from the stand should it get wet. All of the stand is coated in epoxy resin to stabilise the timber and protect it from water ingress, then coated and waxed. This item is number SS25 and this is pyrographed on the based as our items are original and limited editions. The images show razors and shaving brush that are not included, used for illustration only.
This stand is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put near a heat source such as a radiator, it will also discolour if left in direct sunlight. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
