With this Lavender range, I am exploring subtle changes in background to enhance the pale lilac tile. This mixed cream background is lovely and warm against the lavender.

Full description
This original floral art is created in mosaic and features lavender sprigs on a cream background. Two types of lilac tile have been used, a matt tile called Parma and a slightly iridescent tile called Amethyst. Even though the tones are similar, the Amethyst tile shimmers slightly creating a lovely sense of depth. I used a cream and off white tiles for the crazed background, which I think works really well with the pale flowers and gives a sense of depth and texture.
I use beautiful, quality tiles; Winckelmans, Cinca and Emaux de Briare, which are matt ceramic and come in soft muted tones. I hand cut each piece of tessera to create intricate images inspired by nature. The mosaic is mounted on a wooden canvas and the sides are part tiled to frame the plaque and give depth and is complete with hanging wire.

Due to the wooden frame, this art is suitable for display indoors only.
Each wall plaque is one of a kind but I am able to make more in a similar colour palette on request. I am also open to commissions, just contact me for a chat.
