Full description

Asked for a sewing machine for Christmas? Need to start somewhere but too feart to take it out of the box? This intensive 3 hour class will get you started - you'll be stitching in no time at all.

This is an "on demand" class so the date and time will be arranged by email once you've bought your session. Your class must be used within 8 weeks of purchase.

Bring your own sewing machine and discover the joy of sewing in my lovely studio in Low Valleyfield. This is a one to one lesson, focusing on the basic skills you need to use your sewing machine creatively and safely.

What will I learn?

Threading, winding a bobbin, changing needles, understanding different needle types, learning how to adjust your tension and many more techniques are covered.

We'll do some sewing exercises, mastering straight and curved seams, practice accurate stitching, turning corners precisely and then use those new skills to make an item for you to take away with you.

Your sewing machine MUST in good working order and be brought to my studio with all the power and foot pedal cables, all the accessories such as presser feet and bobbins and, most importantly, the machine manual.

If you fail to bring everything you need, I'm afraid you'll have to return home for the missing items. In this scenario, your class running time will not be adjusted and we will therefore still finish at the arranged time.
