Both Peridot and Black Spinel are traditional birthstones for August and Leo.
Peridot is the transparent form of the mineral Olivine, and was mined by the ancient Egyptians, who called it 'the gem of the sun'.
These teardrops are a translucent light apple green.
Black Spinel is very durable and has high reflectance, meaning these beautifully cut AAA grade cube beads have lots of sparkle and shine.
Larvikite is named after the town of Larvik in southern Norway, and is also known as 'black moonstone or 'Larvik Labradorite'.
The colour varies from light grey to very dark grey, with flashes of silvery-blue iridescence from the presence of feldspar crystals.
It is the national stone of Norway.

Full description
Trios of 6mm Larvikite are connected via a 6mm Peridot teardrop and a 2.5mm faceted Black Spinal cube, highlighted with tiny 1.8mm sterling silver spacer beads.
The necklace graduates to 4mm Larvikite beads and fastens with a Tibetan silver rose toggle clasp.
The Peridot teardrops are a translucent pale apple-green.
The AAA grade Black Spinel cubes have lots of sparkle.
The Larvikite beads are a mottled grey with flashes of silver-blue, similar to that of Labradorite, so that this stone is also known as 'Larvik Labradorite'.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, best friend - or as a treat for yourself.
Especially suited for an August birthday as Peridot and Spinel are the birthstone for August and Leo.
This necklace measures approximately 16.5 inches (42cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
