During my leather work learning / training, I wanted to make some card wallets. I had made a couple of plain and uninspiring card wallets for practice and decided to design something a little bit different. So I stuck with a 3 slot design but used different textures of leather, colour blocking and a soft sometimes contrasting suede lining in the main slot. I love the design, even though I have to hand stitch through six layers. Depending on the type of leather, some are a great thickness (about 14mm) and some are slightly less (10mm). On some of the wallets I have left the sides natural and not painted (they are burnished) as I love seeing the layers, I feel it gives the card wallet a more handmade rustic look, but that look doesn’t suit all the wallets, so some have been finished with a leather edge paint.

Leather cardholder. Brown and black leather cardholder. The brown leather has a slightly waxy coating which scuffs easily, giving the leather a lovely worn look that doesn't damage the leather in any way , it just gives a nice rustic aesthetic which matches the chunkiness of the cardholder. Light pebble brown coloured thick suede leather lining in main slot.

Hand stitched using a natural light cream coloured waxed linen thread
Three slots - main body - contrasting colour front slot - a small band slot on the top front
Sides have been burnished and left unpainted to appreciate the layers of leather.
Standard cards do fit in but as it is new it may feel a little snug ( which isn’t a bad thing)
Approx measurements 4 inches across (10cm) x just under 3 inches (7.5cm)

This cardholder has a sturdy, firm feel.
