Just to let everyone know the shop will shut for Christmas on Sunday 14th December this year.
Please enjoy browsing and should you buy a doll she will be packaged in an organza bag. I have been given literally hundreds and will use them until they run out rather than let them go to landfill. Also I have been asked why I don't often repeat combinations of fabric with the dolls. It is because I tend to buy remnant stock where I can, tiny pieces of fabric that are too small for most people to use. So often I have only enough to make one doll. I wanted to make a fairy for a while but a more experienced fae not a teenage waif, so I decided to make a Fairy God Mother. Inspired by Flora, Fauna and Merryweather in Sleeping Beauty my God Mothers are practical hard working fairies trying to bring a little magic into the world.
Inspired by the dream-like world that Lewis Carroll imagined in his story of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland , Curious Land depicts a magical floral world of enchanted flowers and peculiar mushrooms that bring the design to life.

Full description
This is Hilde. A smaller pattern, she is about two thirds the size of my witch. She has a hand embroidered and hand painted face with hand styled wool tops hair in a brunette colour. This little Fairy God Mother has a Liberty tana lawn print dress in reds and pinks called Curious Land. She has wings that match her underskirt and sports a little felt wand. Her shoes are the smallest I have ever made and are leather. She has a piece of rose quartz to her heart with rosemary in her stuffing and is finished with tiny buttons, rich burgundy organza ribbon and a little coronet in her hair.
She has a brass ring to her back to hang
She stands just 8 inches tall with all the hair!.
She is, as are all my girls, warm and companiable with a touch of English whimsy. I hope she makes you smile. Please remember she is not a toy and not suitable for children.
