Full description
Fused glass purple pansy mounted on a slate board.
Created using coloured glass powders which are sieved through hand-cut stencils of individual petals and leaves. Several shades of powder are built up in layers to achieve a realistic colour and the separate elements are kiln fused into 'wafers' to bind the powders together. The petals are then layered into flower heads and fused again, and finally the picture is built onto a base of white glass and the third firing takes place, resulting in a delicate and realistic 3D image.
The glass panel measures 15cm square and the slate measures 22cm. The slate is drilled and strung with a black cord, ready for hanging, and there are bumpers on the back to prorect your wall.
