The star measures 30mm across its points. It is mounted on a brooch bar, the pin of which secures with a rotating catch.
I made the star by building up layers of clear enamel on the copper base then scattering green and white enamel over these.When the piece was at red hot in the kiln I drew through the surface with a steel point to create the unique, random pattern.

Since listing the star I have had a query about the 'rotatng catch.' I have added a picture montage that I hope clarifies the expression. Essentially what I mean to convey is that the brooch pin fits into a hoop that can be opened and closed with a catch that rotates around the opening into which the pin fits,
