This piece is an embroidered rendition of one among thousands of pen and ink illustrations by American pulp fiction and horror artist Virgil Finlay.
Though pulp magazine was far before my time, I was drawn towards Finlay's strange and often unsettling illustrations, most of them featuring intricate line art, feminine bodies and an expert understanding of light

Hand stitched embroidery art of unnamed pen and ink illustration by American pulp fiction legend Virgil Finlay (1914 - 1971) stitched with black, white and grey monochrome thread on white cotton polyester fabric and framed in faux wood plastic hoop (15cm x 19cm)
