I came across a beautiful photograph of a very pale flamingo against a similar background and I felt compelled to paint it. I love the subtle contrast between her feathers and the background colours. I wanted to add to this further by painting a frame in the same/similar colour.
I’m drawn to nature in all forms but especially to birds. Flamingos are a beautiful bird that almost don’t look real with their pretty pink beaks and feathers. I wanted to paint a flamingo in a sophisticated style that highlights their elegance with more subtle tones instead of the more vibrant shades of pink they are often associated with.

This elegant painting a very pale flamingo would look beautiful in a bedroom or nursery. The design is suitable for all ages to enjoy.
Painted in an impressionist/painterly style using my self taught technique. Painting allows me to express my creativity and passion for nature in a way that works with my limitations instead of against them. Art is therapeutic for me as a coping mechanism for chronic pain and fatigue. I’m at my happiest when painting wildlife.
All paintings and gifts are sent wrapped in protective sustainable packaging materials to ensure they arrive safely.
Painting and frame sold together, price includes the frame. The painting can be easily removed if you would prefer a different frame.
