Welcome to my shop!
Here I sell art prints of my original drawings and paintings, some original artworks and a small selection of hand embroideries.
I love creating, whether it's on paper or fabric and I'm inspired by many things, especially nature. I love small details and the meditative process of creating intricate details at a slow pace.
One of my favourite places to walk is Burnham Beeches forest.
Some of the trees are very old and they have lots of character.
This drawing is inspired by one of the trees there- it has quite twisted branches, bulges and knots that often look like eyes to me and a large interesting shaped hole in the centre of the trunk.
I like to re imagine these trees as magical entities. I named this piece Eye Tree as the marking above the large hole looks like an eye and I imagined the hole as a portal to other worlds, times or dimensions. The golden strings coming out of the hole represent the ancient energy emerging form the tree into our world.
The tree supports the forest below which is why the mushrooms and ferns are exaggerated in size.
The artwork began in rough pencil layout, I then worked over the top in black ink fineliner pens, black watercolour wash was added for shadows and depth and then gold ink for the highlights.

This Giclee print is on thick high quality Hahnemuhle German Etching 310gsm matt paper, which has a watercolour paper texture finish.
This print is Hand Finished with gold watercolour details.
