Here I sell art prints of my original drawings and paintings and also hand embroideries.
I love creating, whether it's on paper or fabric and I'm inspired by many things, especially nature. I love small details and the meditative process of creating intricate details at a slow pace.
Beauty and magic in nature is one of my main sources of inspiration. Coral reefs are to me, an explosion of nature's brilliance-they are truly amazing. I wanted to create a piece of art that was semi abstract and conveyed the beauty and intricacy of coral reefs through colour texture and pattern, rather than a direct representation of any particlar coral.
This piece is from a stage in my creative process where I found applique and embroidery were how I wanted to express my art. It was during a time of uncertainty in life and I needed a very tactile and comforting medium. The slowness of stitching and softness of the threads and fabric gave me calm when I needed it. This one was definitely a meditative piece.

Full description
This is a one of a kind 8.5 inch wooden hoop framed hand embroidery.
It features assorted appliqued fabrics combined with detailed hand stitching and accents of blue and black glass beads. I used upcycled sari fabrics as well as newly bought fabric pieces.
Made using DMC cotton threads, the front is black cotton, on the reverse is a neat black felt backing to protect the stitches underneath.
This hoop can be displayed easily on a shelf or resting on a nail in the wall.
Please display out of direct sunlight as this may cause the colours to fade.
