It's a wrap folks! I'm now on my holidays. Many many thanks to everyone who has supported my daft little enterprise this year. Have a brilliant Christmas and I look forward to bashing more spoons for you in 2026.
HOLIDAY DATES: Please note the shop will now be CLOSED until Fri 2 Jan inclusive. I may be away from my computer so please be patient if it takes me longer than usual to answer messages. If you've ordered recently, rest assured that all packages have been despatched by first class post.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
A three-pronged vintage silver-plated bread fork with original engraved decoration on both sides, and a yellow celluloid 'faux bone' handle. Below the tines I've hand stamped it 'BREAD' with vintage stamping dies. A perfect small gift for anyone who loves quirky old stuff, it's just right for spearing bread rolls from a basket and can be used for serving sliced meats or chunky sausages too. Do be careful though, the teeth are quite sharp, I'd recommend using this as a serving implement only and NOT as a weapon no matter how irritating your dinner guests may be. Also keep out of reach of unsupervised children, just in case.
You will receive the fork shown in the photos. It is about 18.5cm long, and it's vintage (or quite possibly antique) and pre-loved so it does have some wear to its original silver plating, and as already noted the tips of the tines are quite sharp because of polishing.
The lettering is coloured with a waterbased acrylic ink. Hand washing is recommended, the handle isn't dishwasher-proof and the fork shouldn't be left soaking in water either as this loosens the adhesive with which the metal part is bonded to the handle.
