Discover the fun of needlefelting and make this lovely fat bumble bee that you can then turn into a brooch, a magnet or add a wire to it to make it "fly" over a pot plant (indoor use only).

Needle felting is a craft where wool fibres are interlocked and shaped using a special needle with barbs. The barbs on the needle catch and tangle the fibres, causing them to mat together to form a solid material. We first create the body then add the stripes and wings. Eyes can be added using tiny seed beads or you can felt them using a tiny bit more wool fibre.

No water is involved, so it's a lot less messy than traditional wet felting, and you can work in some very small details that wouldn't be possible otherwise. There's no sewing (unless you want to hand stitch on the eyes and the brooch pin) and it's both rather enjoyable to stab wool fibres together and slightly breathtaking as you risk life and limb (yes, I'm over egging the pudding here but pricking a finger is a distinct possibility) to make the cutest little bumble bee you've ever held in your hand.

All materials, tools and refreshments provided.
