Welcome to my Folksy shop. I design and make silver jewellery inspired by love for British wildlife and the natural landscape. My work combines a mixture of traditional silversmithing techniques alongside using silver clay, enamel and glass.
Everything has been designed and made by me in my little workspace and I hope it brings as much joy to those who wear it as it did to me whilst crafting.
If you are buying a gift rather than treating yourself then I am always happy to gift wrap orders for free and send direct to your recipient with a handwritten message, just let me know when you checkout. Esther x

Full description
Star is 5cm wide and the cord 90cm long
These funky handmade silver star pendants are made from a ceramic core which has been coated with layer upon layer of silver clay. This uses recycled silver and to produce this effect I used the clay as a paste - in fact in the texture you can see the brushstrokes which makes it a really tactile design. Each time I made the stars they looked slightly different and there are only 5 in existence. By firing the star in my kiln the silver has become fused to the ceramic star, giving it a permanent silver plating which is of hallmark quality. (My work can be hallmarked at the London Assay Office as it it 99.9% silver, a higher silver content than sterling silver which is 92.5% but to keep costs down for the customer I only do this for heavier pieces.)
They are presented on black cotton cord (90cm) so can be worn at varying lengths depending on your outfit or you can loop it onto a chain you already own. They are ready for gifting in an organza bag - so plastic free packaging.
