Growing up in rural Somerset trees held a fascination for me. Dad and I would either climb up them in the evening and wait for the foxes and badgers to come out or he would show me how to use them to find my way even after dark.
I don't think that I'm alone in seeing them as friends who were old when I was born and will hopefully still be standing proud long after I'm gone.
Look out for your local conservation group and spare some time to look after your old friends!

This original autumn forest landscape painting it's full of light, colour and texture, gently pulling you into the painting and along the tree lined path.
Autumn in the woods, natures preparations for the winter are underway. The leaves blazing in their autumn colours, birds enjoying the glut of berries and squirrels working on their winter stores. Trees of all ages and verities get ready in their own way to welcome in the long cold nights and saving their strength for the spring to follow.
Dimensions: Painting itself is 40cm (15.75" square) and framed 43cm
