Full description
This mug makes an ideal birthday, thank you or Mothers Day gift for a lover of handmade pottery, tea, coffee or birds! Pottery is also the traditional 9th wedding anniversary gift.
Thrown on my wheel, this pretty stoneware mug incorporates abstract bird motifs with a pretty blue background colour along with simple yellow flowers.
Taking inspiration from nature & my love of patterns, I cut the bird & flower designs out of paper & applied them to mug body before the clay dried. I then painted the mug with slip (liquid clay) to add the colour, then carefully peeled the paper away to reveal the stencil design before adding the handle & leaving to dry. I then fired, covered in a glossy clear glaze & fired it again. A time consuming but very enjoyable process - I hope the joy I have in making comes across in each finished piece.

- Holds 1/2 pint of liquid.
- Measurements (approx): height - 7.5cm, diameter - 10.5cm. Measurements vary slightly as all handmade individually.
- Can be washed in the dishwasher
Postage: My standard postage is via UK Royal Mail 48 Tracked. I will despatch 1-2 working days on receipt of your order. If you need another delivery option, please contact me first :-)
Packaging: All items come well packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes. I only buy paper based & recyclable packaging. So if your parcel contains any plastic (eg bubble wrap/foam) it is being re-used.
