The inspiration for the serving board was based on a viewing of a high class joinery website where the serving boards were made in a similar way that I make rudder blades. So I took the idea of various contrasting woods and create something different, but based on my work in the boat and joinery industry.
As with all our products they are individually made by hand in Torquay, by me. And you will receive a document to verify the products information and its identification marks. Something we have been doing since we started BaChZigns, but not told people about. All our items are individually numbered and stamped on the base, and where possible signed.
As time goes on and thoughts change so will the types and designs change, just like the seasons we constantly look at different ideas in a different light.

Full description
This serving board is made from various hardwoods namely Cherry and Black Walnut with an English Beech end clamps to reduce the curvature or bowing of the boards. There is a finger hole to allow you to more easily pick up the board from a kitchen worktop for instance. We have rounded over all the edges and finger hole to make the board easy to handle.
Every board is documented and individually numbered, we send you this document of authenticity, when you purchase each one. This one is LSB2, which is pyrographed on the handle, as each piece we make is an original hand crafted item.
Serving board dimensions (approx.) 39cm, 26.5cm wide, 2.1cm deep. Weight 1.45kg
This serving board is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put in a dishwasher or to near a heat source, they will discolour if left in direct sunlight.
To care for the serving board, first wash in warm soapy water then dry, and finally oil them with sunflower oil. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
