My Folksy shop is closed at present. If you would like to see more of my work, or if you would like the details of galleries that stock my ceramics please contact me. Every piece is different and is made by hand - so while I explore different themes and colour variations, each one is unique. Just click on the 'contact' button above and I'll get back to you. Thanks for visiting Judy Adams Ceramics!
I’m inspired by the forms of ancient pottery and by the shapes, colours and designs in abstract art, especially textile art of the mid century. The two come together in much of my work, creating a fusion that intrigues me. Each piece is different in form and decoration so everything is a one-off.
For display purposes only, not for food/drink use. Please use a mat to protect painted or polished surfaces. Handwash in warm water and air dry. Not dishwasher safe.

Handmade in black stoneware ceramic, I created a vase in the form of a jar to show off a posy of flowers or just to place in your home as an eyecatching piece of ceramic art. The hand-sponged design is my own creation inspired by the abstract art of the Bauhaus movement. It features two rectangular areas of colour, one pink, one green, with a sgraffito undulating line incised through the colour to expose the black clay beneath. I added stripes in grey around the body of the jar to link the two colour panels. I glazed the inside of the jar to hold water if you want to use it as a vase, while the outside is the natural matte finish of the clay itself. 13cm high to the rim of the jar and 8cm across the widest part of the base. Underneath is my potter’s mark of a swallow in flight pressed into the clay before final firing to 1185 degrees C. Hot stuff!
