When I set out to make a new wreath, I’m inspired by the season as well as by the wonderful materials that surround me in my workshop ( which is only a tiny potting shed in my cottage garden, heated with a 50’s vintage paraffin stove)
This time, with winter cold and icy around me, I fancied bringing the palest shades together with a contrast of darker foliages.
Reflecting that period in January and February when it’s still dark early and pretty chilly, but there’s a hint of snowdrop-white in the hedgerows and ferny foliage on the bravest Cow-parsley and Chamomile.
This wreath reflects that early spring aesthetic.
It’s going to be perfect for summer too - cool and fresh on the hotter days!
The diameter is roughly 40 cm and the half- moon of flowers is quite dense and full.
I like to partly show the wreath ring that forms the structure of my wreaths, it’s attractive in its own right; this one was woven in early spring ‘24 then cured before use.

Full description
Designed on one of my handmade wreath rings, woven from local materials.
I’ve used a pale palette of soft whites and contrasting darker seed-heads to complete this lovely, natural wreath, with just a few sprigs of blue larkspur peeping through.
I add each spray of flowers individually and bind them to the frame to ensure a sturdy result, that will happily withstand postage, when carefully packed.
This wreath is finished with a simple frayed chiffon ribbon tie.
Ready to hang and best for indoor use.
The vibe is fresh, light and airy, perfect for spring.
