I love trees and I also love Chinese and Japanese brush paintings and calligraphy. My aim was to capture the personality of each tree when it is reduced to its essence - in winter. I had always planned that each original portrait would be framed in the same wood depicted and this has been achieved.
On completion, I felt that a portfolio/folder would be a good way to present smaller versions: each laser print can be easily displayed and framed separately if desired. My hope is that the original paintings will be bought and displayed in a large space.

Full description
A portfolio of six tree portraits with accompanying text. Size is approximately 30 x 35cm in a limited edition of 15. I painted the original 'tree portraits' with brush and ink in January and February 2024. All were painted in the landscape (en plain air) on heavy paper approximately 1m square. The portfolio is made of 300gsm black card screenprinted with the beech portrait in silvery-white ink. A friend said it looks like a frosty tree on a dark night!
The portraits and text inside are laser printed in rich black on 200gsm white drawing paper (the same specification as the original paper used for the paintings).
These will be dispatched in an A3 cardboard envelope.
Postage in the UK will be via Royal Mail, 24 hour tracked.
Postage to Europe is tracked and signed. Please allow a week.
Postage to the USA is tracked and signed. Please allow ten days.
