I often marvel at how life on Earth is dependent on the ability of green plants to transform sunshine into basic carbohydrate and oxygen. This is my attempt to create a non-verbal graphic image through which to contemplate this mystery. In my view, the fact that we 21st century humans know many of the details of these chemical processes does not make the presence of life any less mysterious.

Full description
This hand-made limited edition screen print graphically represents the process of Photosynthesis which is the foundation of life on earth. It would make a unique gift for any chemists, biologists or nature-science enthusiasts in your life! The top half represents carbon dioxide and water molecules which are transformed by the leaf into glucose and oxygen in the bottom half.
This is screen printed on heavy 220gsm acid-free paper in six colours (including silver for the chemical bonds). The size of each sheet is 22"x28" (56cm x 71cm) with an image area of 36.5cm x 51.5cm. This is a limited edition of 31 prints. Each print is signed and numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity, also signed by me, the artist.
Oxygen is shown as blue circles, Hydrogen as red triangles and Carbon as brown squares. The same shapes/number of atoms are shown in both halves of the poster but their rearrangement into new molecules by plants makes all the difference to life on earth
GRADE B versions of this print have printed slightly imperfectly (see final image for example) but are good enough to display.
