Scotland has a long history of pottery production. The factories were often located near a river or sea and the water was used in the production process. At the end of day, broken or flawed items were discarded. Over time, they are tumbled by the waves, creating these tiny pieces of colour on the sand.
Why an Elephant? My kids all loved the story books of a very famous patchwork elephant. This one is for them!

Full description

Colourful Elephant mosaic made from a patchwork of beach found pottery, this is a beautiful unique piece of art.

Beach pottery is broken ceramics that have been discarded in or near the sea. Over time, the pieces are broken and worn by the waves and wash back onto the shore. Each piece is collected from the beach and repurposed in this mosaic.

The frame is a 6" x 8" deep box frame. It can be wall mounted or freestanding.

The tartan border is Flower of Scotland.

A little reminder of the Scottish pottery industry and the amazing Scottish coastline where these pieces were collected.

Safety:

- Decorative use only. Place out of reach of small children.

- Glass. Handle with care.
