- WHEEL OF THE YEAR -
Celebrate the changing seasons with this gorgeous Wheel of the Year.
The Wheel of the Year is a calendar of 8 seasonal festivals that mark the year’s solar events and the mid-points between them. An enchanting combination of ancient Celtic traditions and astronomical events, the Wheel encourages us to live in tune with the rhythms of the Earth. A lovely way to stay connected to nature, and a reminder for special times to share with others.
A disc of beautiful bamboo, etched with my Wheel of the Year design. This wheel features the 8 festival names and dates, and the quarterly solar events which link them. It has a sun at the center, and a decorative ring of moon phases in the middle. The wheel measures 207 x 207mm and is 5mm thick. It comes complete with a small stand on which it can be displayed and rotated as the seasons change. The stand is made of 3mm bamboo, and simply slots together.
- MATERIALS -
I strive to use natural, sustainable and recycled materials wherever possible. This Wheel of the Year set uses:
- Sustainable bamboo board
- Recycled/recyclable cardboard packaging
- UNIQUE & IMPERFECT -
Bamboo is a natural material, and there will always be subtle variations in the grain and colouration of each piece - this is part of their unique beauty. Each individual piece is sanded to remove burn marks. The bamboo in this piece is not treated with any protective finishes.
