These earrings were born one dreary and cold October afternoon. I just wanted to get cosy and cwtch up on the sofa but felt restless with creativity. The mohair is the last of a ball that I've had for over 20 years. I wanted to use it on something pretty and the gradient can be seen both earrings. The crystal at the top of the earrings are from a vintage necklace from the 1940'-50's. The faux pearls around the earring I thought created a classic border and snuggle in lovely in the mohair. The rose gold findings blends in a treat, the heart chain and earring wires provide warmth and can be worn on any skin tone.

These dove/birds of peace earrings are comprised of vintage multicolour gradient mohair, mother of pearl doves, swarovski and vintage crystals, rose gold plated sterling silver chain and wires. They measure approx. 7.5cm from top of wire to bottom of earring. Without findings earrings measure approx. 6cm long and 4.5cm at widest part.
Totally Handcrafted by myself with materials gleaned from a lifetime of collecting precious, quirky, discarded and sparkly things. Incorporating everyday household objects, sometimes concealed, sometimes obvious.
They are feminine and pretty, an ideal gift for a loved one and someone who appreciates unique and hand crafted items. The fuzziness of the mohair provides a lovely, almost soft focus appeal. They are light yet substantial. The doves move and twirl catching the light on a dangling heart chain. An apt gift for yourself or for Christmas.
