Full description
A wall hanging bass relief sculpture of a Dormouse asleep in its nest of dried grasses. Hazel Dormice sleep a lot, and often hold their tails close to their body to keep warm. This stoneware fired sculpture is robust enough to live outdoors or indoors and measures 12cm x 12cm x 3cm. It is fully frost proof, and stung on the back with twine made of polypropylene and stainless steel, which is very strong and won't rot or rust. It hangs in one direction only.
Decorated in two styles, life-like underglaze or more muted copper and rutile, each is hand painted and no two are exactly the same. Even how I press-mould them is never the same twice over, and you get a sculpture and painting all in one! Small and affordable, these make excellent gifts for an animal lover. Also a great gift for anyone who loves to sleep, or those who need the encouragement to sleep more!
These are fully weather and frost proof and can also be cemented into place as an architectural feature. This is one of 7 in my 'Mini beast' series.
